Louis Garneau designed the Tri Power Laser Women’s Shorts to give you a competitive advantage, and a large part of that is long-distance comfort. Starting with Lycra Power fabric for its highly breathable and compressive properties, the Tri Power Laser shorts contain more Lycra per square inch than other fabrics. This adds extra compressive support that Louis Garneau claims will increase fatigue resistance by 10 to 20% over long distances.
Absorbing less water than other materials, these shorts dry out fast as you transition from water to your bike. Using an eight-panel design, the Tri Laser Shorts are flexible and give you the range of motion you demand for each part of your race. The tri-specific, Tri Air chamois conforms to your body through a wide range of motion without getting in the way so that it doesn’t hinder your swimming or running. With a comfortable elastic waistband, Power Lazer bands at the thighs to hold them in place, and flatlock seams to prevent chafing, the Tri Power Women’s Shorts make your determination the only thing that keeps you from the finish line.

Power, endurance, will-power—whatever you choose to call it, you need it in spades to get through a triathlon. And with your mind focusing on the pain throughout the body, you don’t need to shift focus to the external pain being caused by your shorts. This all-too-common ailment inspired Louis Garneau to create the Tri Power Laser Shorts. Now, with the shorts’ compression properties, you can race in comfort and with an advantage.
Louis Garneau made its Tri Power Laser shorts from the all-powerful Lycra Power fabric. This material differs from typical Lycra with its complex knit structure. Its knit contains more Lycra per square inch, which provides more stretch and better muscle support. Basically, the more support given to the muscles, the less detriment impact vibration poses to them. On top of this, the fabric offers compressive properties, meaning that proper blood flow is promoted throughout the legs. Garneau claims that the favorable circulation from the Tri Power Laser shorts increases resistance to fatigue by 10 to 20% over a long duration. The fabric also absorbs less water, and dries faster, than standard Lycra. This means that your transition from the water will be seamless and free from discomfort when you get into the saddle.
Aside from the shorts’ soft-to-the-touch construction, Garneau also provided extra features to ensure comfort. The shorts use an eight-panel design with what Garneau calls its ‘crotch flex panel.’ The multiple panels add flexibility to the fabric, which in turn increases your range of motion within the shorts. For fit, the shorts have a comfortable, elastic waistband with an added drawstring. Garneau also included its Power Lazer bands at the thighs to secure the placement of the shorts, and to add to the compressive properties of Lycra Power. To eliminate abrasion and chafing, the shorts use flatlock seams throughout.
The Tri Power Laser shorts also include Louis Garneau’s tri-specific Tri Air chamois. This chamois differs from a standard road pad in its ability to conform to the body throughout a wide range of movements. So, it won’t feel cumbersome when you’re in the swimming or running portion of your race. And for when you’re going from the water to the saddle, the material and padding is quick-drying and non-abrasive.
